I still remember how we went to my mom's friend's place cause their cat had little ones and I got to choose one. Didn't take me long til I chose Monty. That was about 12 years ago. I still have tons of pictures of that tiny cat jumping on top of big fat Ferris (who died last year) who was a total loner but always took care of the little one.
Last weekend Monty came back home for the last time. He was gone for a couple of days and when he came back he looked really bad. My parents described the view on his face "... like he was trying to tell us to do something." They brought him to the vet who speculated that he got stuck in a window or something for a couple of days. He had a croaky voice so apparently he screamed for help for a long time and his bladder and some other organs were crimped and he had trouble breathing. There was no way to save him so they decided to put him to sleep.
I'll miss him.
